I blame the jet lag
Never mind that I am an experienced traveler and know the tricks to avoid jet lag. Exhaustion after three weeks of non-stop travel must be the reason that today I couldn't resist this 1920s Guignol puppet theatre - which folds up like a suitcase! How convenient is that??!! Hello Ulla, Vanessa? I know you adore puppet theatres too. Wouldn't you have indulged a whim and taken this theatre home?
I found a few other little things such as rose-coloured 18th-century books, mercury-glass gazing balls in various shades of blue and green and heart-shaped silver prayer ornaments. Then there was that Spanish statute of the Madonna and Child. Er, ahem... Not all of it came home with me! Photos to follow.
Run, don't walk to the 31st Foire aux Antiquaires currently underway from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at Place Saint-Sulpice, Paris. Fabulous things to be had. The brocante is in the sixth arrondissement and admission is free, through June 16th. Check back later for more brocante photos, as well as images from my travels.
