My daughter Jordana (right) and her design partner Ashlyn in the fashion studio at the Savannah College of Art & Design, Savannah, Ga.

Jordana, Ashlyn and models wearing their joint collection for Ruffian, New York. Jordana's coat (top, left) was featured in South magazine. It is currently on display at Saks Fifth Avenue, Phipps Plaza, Atlanta. For a close-up view, go here.
These photos were taken May 16th amidst a flurry of activity as students readied for their senior critique from SCAD professors and department heads.
I like the ruffles at the bottom of the trousers, as well as the red ruffled cumberbund.
The models were trained for the fashion runway by the famed "Miss J" of the television series America's Next Top Model.

On a different note, regular readers of Paris Parfait watch my banners change from month to month. Typically they feature my photographs of Paris and environs.
Today I'm pleased to introduce a new banner, created by the fabulous Tucson-based artist Vanessa Valencia. As you know, I'm a huge fan of Vanessa's work and own several of her paintings and art dolls. When I told her my ideas for a banner, she made them a reality, then added a little twist of her own - borders made from old film. Thank you, Vanessa!

i was looking through your sf photos and saw this. wonderful to see your lovely daughter in her element; this was such a fun post with the newly designed fashions

Amazing. I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of talent and hard work that goes into creating such a collection. It all looks simply marvelous!
The banner is absolutely adorable (and I happen to love the font she chose, too).
Tara responds:
Thank you! Yes, Vanessa did great work - but I chose the fonts. : )

Amazing your daughter! What a proud mama you must be! Jordana is an extraordinary designer. I love her collection and that fitted leather coat with the had cut back, is to die for! The outfit Jordana is wearing looks like a Guess outfit Pepper wears quite often, save the high shoes, which she only wears on special occasions! I love all the youthful clothing, it's sassy and fun. I like the twist of Victorian in there too!
The new banner is adorable, Vanessa did a great job. Cute French girl persona! It would make an adorable icon!
Love this post!

Wow! So much talent in one family! Your daughter's (and her friend's) collection is stunning.
Your new banner is wonderful as well -- captures the spirit of Paris (and of your blog) but keeps it fresh, not clichd.
