Larking about London

Scaffolding_by_building_facade

Scaffolding props up the facade of a 19th-century building on Oxford Street, London. Behind the facade, construction is underway on a new space, which will retain the historical facade. In the building at left, a flag is reflected in the window's glass.

Brompton_oratory

A jumble of cooking wares caught in a fisherman's net at Divertimenti in Knightsbridge, London. The Brompton Oratory is reflected in the glass.

Charity_shop_window_two

Giant_lipstick_tube

A giant lipstick tube - Heatherette for M.A.C. Cosmetics - in a window display at Selfridges on Oxford Street.

Butterfly_banners

Banners advertising an ongoing exhibition at the Natural History Museum on Cromwell Road.

Butterfly_exhibition

Children and their parents line up for tickets to the giant maze and butterfly house at the Natural History Museum.

How clever, the caterpillar entrance.

Wow what a lovely blog you have and so many beautiful pics!

Hugs from Singapore

Third one from the top, my favourite. I love the colours, the whimsical objects.
And the final shot. The flower boxes are amazing.
I've NEVER been to Europe. I must come there.
London. Paris. Lisbon! I must see Portugal being half Portuguese.
One sweet day...hopefully sooner rather than later!

(Tara, I've no choice but to leave you a note here, my email may be fixed. Please try again ;D)

I really need a giant lipstick tube, like NOW.

Taking a walk with you on Oxford Street gave me a nice work break this morning.

Ummm...I miss my Oxford street walks..lovely photos!

I love the pinks and blues -- and isn't "divertimenti" the best name ever?

Hey that's some charity shop isn't it?

Tara, thank you for sharing those photos! I'm always amazed with people's creativity. LOVE those window scenes! Inspiring!

I really like that cirris light sculpture below. It looks just like clouds floating....obviously. Thanks for sharing something I would never otherwise have known existed.
