Carved in stone

Tattoos

A tattooed rock at Le Carrefour des Cascades in the Bois de Boulogne, Paris.

Love

Signs of love.

Natural_rock_formations

Natural rock formations. Notice the bird hiding at right.

Tranquility

Tranquility at the base of the waterfall.

View_from_behind_rock_formation

A view of the waterfall's base from behind a heart-shaped rock formation.

Cascading_water

Water cascades down the sides of the rocks.

In many parts of this world water is scarce and precious.
People sometimes have to walk a great distance
then carry heavy jugs upon their heads.

Because of our wisdom, we will travel far for love.
All movement is a sign of Thirst.
Most speaking really says, "I am hungry to know you."

Every desire of your body is holy;
every desire of your body is Holy.
Dear one, why wait until you are dying
to discover that divine Truth?

Hafiz poem from the book "The Subject Tonight is Love" translated by Daniel Ladinsky.

Love your photos. I've enjoyed my visit!

This is a wonderful poem and a splendid illustration for your handsome photos. That last one with the water falling...wow.

amazing photos Tara!

Hafiz...
What a man. What a poet.
You are lucky going to San Fran this year! Good idea, maybe I'll see if I can swing it. What a nice trip that would be to a place I've always wanted to visit.
This poem is bound to stick with me all day, as Hafiz often does when I read him. (The poetry, not the man! ;oD)

Enjoy your Sunday!

I love, love, love the combination of this poem and the photos ... went over them several times! Brilliant, JP/deb

Oh you have made my Sunday come alive dear Tara. Hafiz, the waterfall and the joy of being alive. Thank you poetic lady.

this is my very most favorite hafiz poem ~
i adore it and i adore YOU!!!

i get to see you soooo sooon!!!

yay!

*happy dancing*

Oh my... what a PERFECT article, Tara! Made my Sunday!!! Both your amazing Green themed photos and the poem, together give us an important message. Personally I got it:)
Hope you too have a great day.

your photos continue to get lovelier. I particularly like the one with the hanging plants inside the cave. The bird does not look real; like a cave painting. I never would have seen it had you not pointed it out. Did you want to go stand beneath the dripping water?

Hoping all is well with you and your family
